470x394-4Thanks to all who joined the Tech Connect Chat on Wednesday, March 18 at 12 p.m. EDT / 9 a.m. EDT.

Channel Company’s Shawn Deena and Caroline Sutton joined us to discuss “Demand Generation Platform for Intel® Technology Providers.”

We had a great discussion around how Intel Technology Providers can learn how to use great web, email, and social content on the demand gen platform to propel marketing results.

Here’s an overview of the chat with some highlights from the hosts and participants:

(1) Demand Generation Platform Overview

  • Mayura Garg: This platform allows us to share the latest web content, social content and email content to help you get started with your demand generation.  Can I get a quick poll– how many are using this platform today?
  • Sun Kwok: I am already registered… I have the content on our home page.
  • Marco Sarmiento: I don’t use a platform, because I need a domain.
  • Caroline Sutton: @Marco great question– we actually have a hosted version of the Showcase available for that exact scenario. You can use the hosted version in place of or in addition to your regular website.
  • Shawn Deena: We have created some short user videos to help guide you through the demand gen platforms: social media video – http://bit.ly/1BUIuB2, syndication – http://bit.ly/1EvVBZj, email– http://bit.ly/1Ct7tfi

(2)   Syndicated and Sharedvue Content

  • Mayura Garg: Thanks Sun– as you may have noticed, your web content keeps getting refreshed every 3-4 weeks. But you don’t have any further work to do once you have started syndicating.
  • Sun Kwok: I’m looking at them now. I think I set our initial sharedvue stuff up over a year ago, and haven’t really looked at it since.
  • @Fpoeta: What’s the link to Sharedvue?
  • Caroline Sutton: @fpoeta here’s the link to register for the tool http://bit.ly/1EvSmB6
  • ResTechImage: I had not looked at Shared Via in a while and was not aware of additional tools like email campaign
  • Shawn Deena: @restechimage — you definitely should. Intel is constantly updated their content, email and social posts.

(3) Gaining business rapport through social engagement.

  • Marco Sarmiento: With the tools provided Intel, one can put together a marketing campaign for our clients, but most are not interactive. Most are to create banners and advertising, does not come in digital format, or at least I have not found.
  • Sun Kwok: I tend to use social content for personal use only. I prefer to use our website as our primary contact with customers. Mostly because it annoys me when I get marketing on facebook. :) Face to face has always been one of our most effective ways to present ourselves to customers. Though I have been thinking that writing some articles on … 2003 end of support, current threats (viruses, etc), would be a good way to spread information and present ourselves as ‘experts’.
  • Shawn Deena: @Sun — I’m uncertain if you’re connected  to twitter, it’s a great opportunity to use our tool.
  • Mayura Garg: @Sun you are right on– nobody wants being ‘marketed’ to– but you will find many would engage with helpful articles and resources.
  • Jamie Huber: What is the most effective media right now? Websites? Facebook? (The best bang for the buck?)
  • Mayura Garg: @Jamie For B2B we are seeing that the IT buyer gets influenced by content from many different channels– Twitter, LinkedIn, email.
  • @Raymondvhall: I never used Facebook for business – maybe now is a chance to try that?
  • Shawn Deena: @raymondhall Intel is a great example of offering the full toolbox and social is an excellent part of it.
  • Mayura Garg: @raymandvhall – it only makes sense if your target audience is on facebook
  • @Raymondvhall: This is helpful for my first look at social media syndication via SharedVue – I may look into Twitter this month – any quick start tips?
  • Sun Kwok: The social media works well for local, retail based businesses to get the word out about what they are doing.
  • Shawn Deena: @raymondhall — definitely — connect your profile through your partner console. Intel provides a good amount of posts for you to use and you can post as well. Also make sure you engage your followers. Try to avoid over messaging. In general best practices for social media rely around messaging and engagement
